Dear Friends
If you followed this blog during its heyday, you’ll know that the Vital Signs project wrapped up back in early 2019 after a wonderful run. We thank you for all your support and interest during that time and since. Some of you will know that subsequently Sarie took up a new post as Head of the Salford Culture and Place Partnership, working between the University of Salford, the Arts Council and Salford City Council. Thus our creative collaboration has taken a break for the time being, but we hope to one day work together again. In the meantime Scott has begun a new collaboration with the dancer and researcher Gemma Collard-Stokes (University of Derby), so continues to explore his fascination with the relationship between movement and words.
If you are curious as to the documentary afterlife of Vital Signs, you can now view a Figshare portfolio documenting the whole project here. This collection is for the purposes of describing the research dimension of the larger project of which this Arts Council England funded performance and festival was the culmination. There are statements of poetics, photo and video documentation (including a film of our full-length performance), various papers and a dialogue between Sarie and myself about our work together. We hope you find it interesting!
Do please feel free to be in touch if you wish to share anything about your own ongoing creative journeys — we would love to hear from you!
all best wishes
Scott and Sarie
